Safety and Rescue
BC Foundation Safety & Rescue Training (FSRT)
This course aims to provide the paddler with key safety and rescue skills in a sheltered water environment in a variety of craft. The paddler will learn skills which will ensure the safety of themselves and others around them whilst out paddling and will learn appropriate rescue techniques which can be used to help them or others when in difficulty. Did you know, you can also re-do your FSRT to count towards a Coach Update!

White Water Safety & Rescue (WWSR)
Two days on Grade 2/3 white water, looking at a range of rescue skills in both canoe and kayak and how to avoid using them at all. We will look at the decision making process and how we can implement different strategies to prevent rescues even being used in the first place and enforce safe paddling concepts/ideas throughout the course. Over the two days we will look at a range of rescue skills and tactics that we can use on the water and from the land.
This is a very engaging and full on course designed to introduce you to a new range of rescue skills and then use them in a range of circumstances.
