The Paddling:
The beauty of this trip is the ability to go with the flow, catering the locations and style of paddling to the group’s appetite and the weather conditions day to day. There is no solid ‘paddling plan’, but we can guarantee that each day will be an adventure and you will get to see a side of Scotland that very few people ever get to see. We will explore the West Coast of Scotland on a new Loch each day, with the potential to also paddle some rivers and on the sea!
This trip is also a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills for paddling on open water in challenging conditions. As well as being your guides, we aim to help you develop as paddlers – we will look at how to better control our boards in the wind and deal with chop, ready for more coastal adventures. Maybe you're preparing yourself for a SUP expedition or working towards a Paddle UK SUP leadership award, what better way to get varied experience in different conditions/environments than a week of paddling around Scotland with us?
What’s unique about this trip is that there is much more than just paddle boarding. With our experience and local knowledge collected from the past 10 plus years, you’ll get opportunities on and off the water to see an array of incredible wildlife such as seals and highland coos as well as historic sights and breathtaking views.
Throughout the trip we will have a private cottage to return to each night allowing us to warm up, dry kit, cook good food and have a warm, comfy nights sleep.

Why September?
The autumnal colours are breathtaking in Quetico, definitely making the trip more special! This time of year is generally quieter, there are fewer midges and whilst the weather conditions can go either way, the style of trip means that we're prepared for all eventualities.
Who are we aiming this trip at?
This trip is for people with paddle boarding experience, looking to explore Scotland. We will be paddling 10-15km a day, with the potential of paddling in up to force 4 winds and going on the sea.
What happens if there is bad weather?
With over a decade of experience and local knowledge, we know all the best spots to paddle even when the weather turns bad. All our routes are flexible, allowing us to adapt to changing conditions while still providing an enjoyable and memorable experience. We also provide waterproof paddling tops and neoprene leggings to help keep you warm and dry. Before your trip, we’ll send you detailed guidance on what to wear and bring, so you’re fully prepared whatever the forecast.
Safety:
We keep our group sizes small, with a maximum ratio of one guide to four clients, ensuring a more personal experience and greater safety. Your safety is our top priority. Every trip is equipped with a group first aid kit, appropriate safety gear, and communication devices for the environment we'll be exploring. All our guides are highly qualified, experienced, and insured, to ensure your trip is safe, enjoyable, and professionally managed in all conditions.

Accommodation and Food:
Everyone will have their own private room during the trip. You will be sharing the rest of the cottage with the group (max person per cottage four). The cottage has an open plan living room/dining room/kitchen and a bathroom, washing machine, Wi-Fi and a drying area outside for wet kit. Bedding and towels are provided. As with all our adventures we offer this as self-catering, this allows the flexibility to cook communally, individually or head to the pub.
If you’re a couple or friends who don’t mind sharing a room, we can offer a slightly discounted rate for people who want to share a room, please get in contact with us for this pricing info@rapidskills.co.uk
